REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team was swept by Lassen College 25-20, 27-25, 25-20 on the road Wednesday to open Golden Valley Conference play.

Lassen recorded 40 kills to Shasta's 29 despite each team recording 106 total attacks.

Emmarae Westphal was the lone Knight with double digit kills, tallying 11 to go with 10 digs. Emma Magini had five kills, Brooke Vaughan had 14 digs and four kills, Rose Young had 18 assists and four kills, Jacie Clavelle racked up nine assists and Elizabeth Lopez had 11 digs.

Shasta (0-1 GVC, 2-13) hosts College of the Siskiyous in the Knights' GVC home opener on Wednesday.
