KNIGHTS LOSE TO SAC CITY, DE ANZA IN SHASTA CLASSIC

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team lost both games at home in the Shasta Classic on Friday, falling to Sacramento City College in straight sets 25-12, 25-18, 25-18 and losing in four sets to De Anza 25-12, 25-15, 14-25, 25-15.

Against Sacramento City, sophomore Presley Hamilton totaled 13 of the Knights' 27 kills and added 11 digs for a double-double. Brooke Vaughan, Macey Bunn and Kelci Vance contributed three kills apiece while Vaughan added 27 digs and Bunn dished 15 assists.

In the loss to De Anza, Hamilton and freshman Emma Westphal each tallied nine kills to lead the Knight offense. Vance contributed six kills and Kiara Yao registered four kills. Bunn delivered 22 assists and three service aces, Vaughan racked up 18 digs and three aces and Hamilton totaled 14 digs.

Vaughan ranks third in the state in digs (208) and Hamilton ranks 10th in the state in kills with 134. Shasta is 15th in the state in total digs (607).

Shasta (2-10) plays a doubleheader Friday at the Hartnell Classic, facing Hartnell in the first match and San Francisco City College in the second.
