LOSING STREAK REACHES NINE MATCHES FOR KNIGHTS

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team dropped all four of its matches last week, two in Golden Valley Conference play and two at the Santa Rosa Quad round-robin tournament.

In GVC play, the Knights fell short to College of the Redwoods in five sets 25-20, 12-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12. Shasta gave up the final two sets and couldn't pull out its first GVC win of the year.

The Knights lost the fourth set despite recording a match-high 13 kills in the set. Freshman Rachel Duhn led the way with a season-best 14 kills while sophomore Kaitlyn Kirk added eight kills, sophomore Cameron Wallace had seven kills, Jessica Troxclair added six kills and Rachel Wasco chipped in with five kills. Freshmen Jenna Hodges dished 20 assists and Grace Lommen had 14 assists. Sophomore Brea Carter registered a season-high 33 digs, followed by Duhn (21) and freshman Mariah Castle (13).

Shasta was swept at home by Feather River 25-9, 25-11, 25-23. Wallace totaled six of Shasta's 16 kills in the match and Hodges had 12 digs.

In the Santa Rosa Quad, Shasta was swept by Hartnell 25-12, 25-12, 25-15 and lost to Santa Rosa in three sets 25-13, 25-22, 25-16.

Shasta drops to 0-5 in GVC play and 6-21 overall with five matches remaining in the season. Wallace is the Knights' kill leader on the season with 173, followed by Kirk (135), Castle (118), and Duhn (103), respectively. Lommen has a team-best 270 assists and 42 service aces, Wallace leads the team in blocks with 75 and Hodges has a team-best 379 digs.
