LAKE TAHOE – The Shasta College women's soccer team lost its Golden Valley Conference opener 9-0 at Lake Tahoe Community College Tuesday.

Freshman Bethany Sather, an Anderson native, stopped eight shots to increase her season total to 60, which ranks seventh in the California Community College Athletic Association.

Shasta allowed three of the five first-half goals in a 10-minute span and surrendered four goals in the second half.

Lake Tahoe's Emily Roberts scored three goals and Alyssa Williams and Eleanor Boothman scored two goals each.

The Knights have been shut out five times this season and fall to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in GVC play. Shasta hosts Feather River on Tuesday for its first home game since Sept. 1.
