EUREKA, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team lost to College of the Redwoods 61-49 in the Golden Valley Conference opener.

The Knights were outscored 32-23 in the second half and shot 17 percent (4 of 23) from 3-point range.

Kaleia Mizuta turned in a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Knights while also adding six steals. Amber Wallace scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds, Isabela Padilla scored 11 points and Trinity Fernandez dished five assists in the loss.

Shasta (0-1 GVC, 7-11) hosts College of the Siskiyous on Wednesday and Feather River College on Saturday.
