REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team lost on the road to wrap up preseason play, falling 62-57 to Los Medanos and 56-46 to Napa Valley.
Both Isabela Padilla and Amber Wallace had a double-double on the week and averaged a double-double across the two games.
Los Medanos 62, Shasta 57
The Knights led 18-14 after the opening period but were outscored in each of the final three quarters to fall on the road. Shasta was led by Padilla's 16 points and nine rebounds, Wallace turned in a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Kaleia Mizuta scored 12 points. Trinity Fernandez scored eight points, grabbed six steals and dished four assists.
Napa Valley 56, Shasta 46
Shasta trailed 25-18 at halftime and couldn't climb out of that hole in the road loss. Shasta shot 2 of 21 from 3-point range in the game. Padilla registered a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds, Wallace scored 15 points to go with nine rebounds.
Shasta wraps up non-conference play with a 7-10 overall record.
