KNIGHTS TAKE DOWN SISKIYOUS

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team split on the week, beating College of the Siskiyous 87-77 after falling to College of the Redwoods on the road 52-49 earlier in the week.

Redwoods 52, Shasta 49
The Knights rallied in the third quarter to turn a four-point halftime deficit into a 35-31 point lead entering the fourth period but couldn't hang on to win on the road. Shasta shot 4 of 24 from 3-point range (16 percent) and 24 percent (18 of 75) from the floor in the game. Redwoods made 19 of its 20 free throw attempts.

Amber Wallace had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Megan Collins scored 12 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Isabela Padilla scored eight points and pulled down nine boards and Riley Wallen grabbed six rebounds.

Shasta 87, Siskiyous 77
Shasta outscored Siskiyous 46-26 in the middle periods to race away with a victory. Shasta turned around the shooting performance, knocking down 12 3-pointers and making 23 of 30 free throw attempts. Six Knights scored in double figures including all five starters, led by Wallen's 19 points and nine rebounds. Collins filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Wallace added 14 points and eight rebounds, Padilla scored 13 points and had nine rebounds, Kaleia Mizuta scored 14 points and dished six assists and Lexi Robbins contributed 10 points off the bench.
