SHASTA DROPS 2 TO FEATHER RIVER, BEATS LASSEN

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team went 1-2 last week, falling twice to Feather River College by four points in each contest before beating Lassen College on the road.

Amber Wallace had a double-double in all three games to lead the Knights, averaging 13.7 points and 12.3 rebounds on the week.

Feather River 66, Shasta 62
The Knights trailed 32-29 at half and nearly completed the fourth quarter comeback. Shasta shot 3 of 26 from 3-point range (11 percent) compared to Feather River's 38 percent from deep (12 of 31) and 15 of 29 from the free throw line. Isabela Padilla led Shasta in scoring with 17 points to go with eight rebounds, Megan Collins scored 14 points to go with six assists and five steals, Wallace had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Kaleia Mizuta scored nine points and Riley Wallen dropped eight points and pulled down a team-best 15 boards.

Feather River 63, Shasta 59
The Golden Eagles outscored the Knights 24-13 in the second period to lead 36-29 at half. Shasta shot 9 of 21 from the free throw line in the game. Wallace had another double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds, Wallen scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Lexi Robbins scored 10 points off the bench.

Shasta 46, Lassen 41
The Knights outscored the Cougars 33-20 in the middle quarters and hung on to win. Collins scored 15 points, pulled down seven rebounds and grabbed six steals, Wallace had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Wallen had 11 rebounds.

Shasta (2-4 Golden Valley Conference, 2-7) plays at Redwoods won Wednesday and at College of the Siskiyous on Saturday.
