REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team dropped its Golden Valley Conference opener to #14 Butte last week, losing 67-45 at home.

The Knights were outscored 20-9 in the opening period and trailed 41-25 at halftime. Shasta turned the ball over a season-high 26 times in the loss and Butte, which was led by Meghan Weinrich's 30 points, made 13 3-pointers in the game.

Freshman Lexi Robbins came off the bench and scored a team-best 10 points for Shasta. Isabela Padilla scored nine points to go with three assists, Amber Wallace scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds, Riley Wallen scored seven points and pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.

Shasta (0-1 GVC, 12-4) plays at Feather River College Saturday at 1 p.m.
