SHASTA SNAPS 10-GAME WINNING STREAK

Redding, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team split its two games in the San Mateo Tournament, losing to host San Mateo 61-59 snap its 10-game winning streak before beating Cabrillo 70-62.

In the loss to San Mateo, Shasta led 48-42 heading into the final period. The Knights were outrebounded 49-27 and only got to the free throw line five times, making three of them. Megan Collins was the leading scorer with 20 points for the Knights. Kaleia Mizuta scored 13 points and had five steals and Riley Wallen and Amber Wallace each chipped in with nine points.

Against Cabrillo, Shasta (12-3) led 50-41 heading into the fourth quarter thanks to lopsided 18-6 third quarter in favor of the Knights. Wallace had a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds and Wallen also contributed a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Isabela Padilla scored 13 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists.
