SHASTA BLASTS DE ANZA, MARIN

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team won both games in the Bay Area last week, beating De Anza 62-46 on Wednesday before blowing out Marin 68-34 on Thursday.

The Knights jumped out to a 25-10 lead after the opening quarter and led by 21 at half. Shasta outrebounded De Anza 54-28. Amber Wallace had a dominant double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Isa Padilla scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Megan Collins scored 14 points and dished four assists and Riley Wallen scored five points, grabbed four steals and pulled down 15 rebounds.

In the win over Marin, Shasta forced 30 turnovers and outrebounded Marin 44-25. Wallace had a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, Padilla had 16 points and five steals, Collins scored eight points and dished four assists and Kaleia Mizuta had eight points off the bench. Shasta made a season-high 19 free throws in the contest.

Shasta (5-2) plays at Folsom Lake on Monday for its only game this week.
