COLLINS RECORDS TRIPLE-DOUBLE FOR KNIGHTS

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team lost twice last week in Golden Valley Conference play, falling to Lassen 91-47 and to Feather River College 81-75.

The Knights fall to 0-6 in GVC play despite winning six of seven before their current six-game losing skid.

Freshman Megan Collins recorded her first collegiate triple-double in the losing effort to Feather River with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists.

Lassen 91, Shasta 47
The Knights shot 30 percent from the field and 5-of-25 from 3-point range in the loss compared to Lassen, which shot 59 percent from the floor and 13-of-24 (54 percent) from downtown. Jamie Larson scored 13 points and Jenna Wallace scored 13 points and had nine rebounds. Riley Wallen scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds while Collins pitched in with a team-best four assists.

Feather River 81, Shasta 75
The Knights led 28-22 at the end of the first quarter but was outscored 23-12 in the second to trail 45-40 at the break. Shasta put up 22 points in the fourth but it wasn't enough to pull out the win. All five starters for the Knights scored in double figures led by Collins' triple-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Wallace had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Kali Cummings scored 14 points, Larson scored 11 points and had eight rebounds and Wallen added 10 points and seven boards.

Shasta hosts Butte College on Wednesday and goes to College of the Siskiyous on Saturday.
