KNIGHTS EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO FOUR WITH 104-45 WIN OVER HARTNELL

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team won both games last week to extend their winning streak to four games on the year.

Shasta College beat Monterey Peninsula 70-45 and Hartnell 104-45. Freshman Jenna Wallace had a double-double in both games to make that four straight games with a double-double.

Shasta 70, Monterey 45
The Knights trailed by two at half but outscored the Lobos 28-11 in the third quarter to take control and never looked back. Shasta forced 24 turnovers with Megan Collins leading the way with 21 points, six steals and six rebounds. Wallace recorded a double-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds and four steals and Riley Wallen scored nine points and grabbed six boards. Jamie Larson pulled down 10 rebounds and Kali Cummings dished a team-best five assists.

Shasta 104, Hartnell 45
The Knights turned in 30-plus point periods through each of the first two quarters to lead 61-21 at half and all 11 players scored in the game with five finishing in double figures. Wallace led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds, Wallen added 21 points and 10 rebounds, Collins scored 14 points to go with six assists and Larson contributed 12 points, eight boards and six assists. Gabby Rosales scored 10 points off the bench and Melanie Jessie scored eight points to go with seven rebounds.

Shasta (4-1) plays at Modesto and Marin on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
