REUSS FINISHES SECOND IN HEPTATHLON NORCAL MULTI CHAMPIONSHIPS

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Shasta College sophomore Audrie Reuss finished second overall in the women's heptathlon at the NorCal Multi Championships at De Anza College last week.

Reuss, a local product from University Prep in Redding, finished with 3,895 points, second to only Emily Johnson of Santa Rosa, who scored 4,181 points across the seven events. She won one event and was in the top three in four events.

Here's a breakdown of each of her events:

100-meter hurdles: Reuss finished third in 16.15 seconds to earn 696 points while the winner was 15.49 seconds and Johnson was second in 16.14.

High Jump: Reuss was second, clearing 1.46 for 577 points. Johnson won with a height of 1.58.

Shot Put: Reuss won with a distance of 10.46 to earn 560 points, besting second-place Brianna Nunn of De Anza (10.00).

200-meter dash: Reuss was sixth in the race in 28.38 seconds for 601 points.

Long jump: Reuss finished tied for fifth with a mark of 4.51 to earn 431 points.

Javelin: Reuss was third overall with a throw of 30.58 to collect 488 points.

800-meter run: Reuss was fourth in 2:42.72 to earn 542 points.
