HIGH JUMPERS LEAD SHASTA AT YUBA INVITE

MARYSVILLE, Calif. – Shasta College won both the men's and women's high jump and the women's team had four event wins on Saturday at the Yuba College 49er Invite.

Anthony Pigoni-Covington won the men's event with a jump of 6 feet, 8 inches, nearly eight inches better than the second-place finisher.

Audrie Reuss won the women's event with a jump of 4-9. She also won the 100 hurdles and was a top-four finisher in all four of her events. Grace Southern won the 1,500 and Chloe Whitmire won the 200 meters.

The Shasta men had eight top-five finishes while all nine entries for the women's events were in the top five.

Below is a list of all Shasta competitors at the event:

MEN

100 meters: Holden Gilbert took third in 11.46 seconds, Taivonn Ervin was fourth (11.50), Dante Harris was 11th (11.79), Jordan Hall was 15th (12.14), Josiah Graham was 19th (12.38) and Cameron Streater was 22nd (12.77).

200: Gilbert was fifth (23.61) and Ervin was ninth (23.92).

400: Jackson Reindel was fourth (53.60) and Gage Bellomo was 10th (55.41).

800: Devon Hammeke was sixth (2:13.78).

1,500: Hammeke was eighth (4:46.78).

400 hurdles: Alex McIntosh was third (1:04.23).

High Jump: Pigoni-Covington won with a jump of 6 feet, 8 inches.

Long Jump: Pigoni-Covington was sixth (19-3.25).

Shot Put: Luke King took second (41-7.25).

Discus: King was second (117-9).

WOMEN

100: Whitmire was second (13.03).

200: Whitmire won in 26.87 seconds.

800: Angelique Escobar was fifth (3:50.21).

1,500: Southern won in 4:56.88.

100 hurdles: Reuss won in 17.58.

400 hurdles: Reuss was fourth in 1:14.41.

High Jump: Reuss won with a height of 4-9.

Long Jump: Whitemire was second with a jump of 14-6.5.

Shot Put: Reuss was third with a throw of 32-9.5.
