MARYSVILLE, Calif. – The Shasta College track and field team won 10 events Saturday at the Golden Valley Conference Championships at Yuba College to conclude the 2021 season.

Alyssa Burke was a triple-event conference champion, claiming the high jump, long jump and the triple jump titles. Shawn Scribner was a double-event champion, winning the long jump and triple jump to lead the men.

Overall, the women won eight events with Grace Southern capturing the 800-meter race and the 1,500-meters. Matteya Ruiz won the pole vault, Sydney Perkins won the 100 hurdles and Shasta won the 4x400 relay.

Scribner was the lone event winner for the men, which had 17 top five finishes. All 15 of the Knights finishers were in the top five.

MEN

100 meters: Kenyon Riley reached the finals with his prelim time of 11.79 seconds, good enough for fourth, but he did not race (DNS) in the final heat. Bradley Murray was eighth in 12.14 seconds.

200 meters: Murray was fourth in 24.50 seconds.

400 meters: Ethen Collins was fifth in 55.29 seconds.

800 meters: Jacob Garrett was second in 1:59.61 and Marcus Francescut was fourth in 2:01.44.

1,500 meters: Francescut was fourth in 4:27.96, Garrett was sixth (5:00.14) and Isiah Wilson was eighth (5:52.70).

4x400 Relay: Shasta's team took second in 3:43.82.

Pole Vault: Aaron Young was second in 12-11.75 and Chad Cooper was fourth in 10-11.75.

Long Jump: Scribner won with a jump of 21-4.25. Caleb Rowe was fourth (19-8.25), Collins was fifth (19-7), Young was sixth (19-1.25), Murray was eighth (18-7.25) and Cooper was 10th (16-8).

Triple Jump: Scribner won with a jump of 43-3.25 and Rowe was third with a mark of 42-8.25.

Shot Put: Jonathan Wilson was fourth (38-10.5) and Davis Murphy was eighth (35-1.75).

Discus: Murphy was fifth (102-10) and Wilson was sixth (97-11).

Hammer Throw: Murphy was fifth (114-1) and Wilson was sixth (93-3).

Javelin: Gavin Dobson was second with a throw of 151-9 while Riley was seventh (119-11) and Wilson was 10th (101-9).

WOMEN

200 meters: Zoey Bishop was second in 26.83 seconds.

400 meters: Bishop was second in 1:00.48.

800 meters: Southern won in 2:22.44 and Angelique Escobar was third (3:59.80).

1,500 meters: Southern won in 5:21.86 and Escobar was fifth in 8:19.20.

100 hurdles: Perkins won in 16.88.

400 intermedia hurdles: Perkins was second in 1:17.15.

4x400 Relay: Shasta won in 4:25.96.

High Jump: Burke won with a jump of 5-6.

Pole Vault: Ruiz won with a mark of 10-11.75. Perkins was second (10-11.75).

Long Jump: Burke won with a jump of 17-11.75.

Triple Jump: Burke won with a jump of 38-7.75. Ruiz was second with a jump of 32-0.25.
