OROVILLE, Calif. – Shasta College track and field competed at the Butte Invite Saturday and the women won six events while the men won four events.

For the women, the Knights competed in eight events and had 13 top-five finishes. Alyssa Burke won three events, including setting a personal best mark in the long jump at 38 feet, 10.5 inches, besting her previous mark of 38-8. Matteya Ruiz won one event and finished second in two others.

In the men's competition, Brock Fischer won the 110-meter hurdles, Shasta's 4x400 Relay Team won, Caleb Rowe won the triple jump and Gavin Dobson won the javelin. The Knights had 23 top five finishes.

Below are the results by event:

WOMEN

100 meters: Zoey Bishop won in 12.87 seconds.

800 meters: Grace Southern won in 2:22.2, Bishop was second in 2:44.06 and Angelique Escobar was fifth (4:08.41).

1,500 meters: Escobar was third (8:07.22).

100 hurdles: Sydney Perkins was second (16.98).

High Jump: Burke won with a jump of 5 feet, 8 inches.

Pole Vault: Ruiz won with a height of 11-1 while Perkins was second at 10-7.

Long Jump: Burke won with a jump of 5.77 and Ruiz was second with a jump of 4.83.

Triple Jump: Burke won with a jump of 12.15 and Ruiz was second with a jump of 9.99.

MEN

100 meters: Kenyon Riley was second (11.06), Jayden Gordon was third (11.08), Tyler Carey was fourth (11.13), Fischer was 10th (11.77) and Ethen Collins was 12th (12.16).

200 meters: Riley was second (22.65), Gordon was fifth (23.18) and Collins was eighth (25.57).

400 meters: Marcus Francescut was fourth (55.74) and Collins was fifth (56.77).

800 meters: Jacob Garrett was second (2:01.56), Francescut was fourth (2:10.78) and Jeshua Wilkinson was eighth (2:19.86).

1,500 meters: Isaiah Wilson was eighth (6:13.85).

110 hurdles: Fischer won in 15.03.

4x400 Relay: Shasta's team of Collins, Wilkinson, Garrett and Francescut won in 3:44.57.

Long Jump: Rowe was second (6.33) and Wilkinson was fourth (5.16).

Triple Jump: Rowe won in 13.93 and Shawn Scribner was third (13.57).

Shot Put: Jonathan Wilson was fourth (10.95) and Davis Murphy was fifth (10.94).

Discus: Murphy was fourth (31.84) and Jonathan Wilson was seventh (29.24).

Hammer Throw: Murphy was third (33.70) and Jonathan Wilson was fifth (28.11).

Javelin: Dobson won in 45.42, Gordon was second (43.67) and Jonathan Wilson was third (33.11).
