MERCED, Calif. – Shasta College's swim team lost the dual Sprint Meet against Merced College at Merced.
Merced's men's team scored 623 points compared to the Knight men, who collected 400 points, which included two individual wins and a win in the 200-yard Medley Relay (1 minute, 42 seconds). Jacob Thulin's 56 points were the third most in the meet and he was the Knights' high point for the men.
The Knight women were outscored 442-102 with Kellie McGee earning the high-point for Shasta with 51 points, which included the lone win for the women.
MEN
Thulin won the 50-yard butterfly (23.67 seconds) and the 100 Individual Medley (55.55) while also taking third in the 50 breaststroke (29.86).
Matthew Beam collected 48 points, taking second in the 50 backstroke (28.93), third in the 50 freestyle (23.28) and fourth in the 100 IM (1:02.17).
Kyan Klinger racked up 44.5 points, finishing third in the 50 fly (25.99), fourth in the 50 free (23.77) and fifth in the 100 IM (1:02.27).
Bradley MacLaren totaled 34 points, taking second in both the 50 free (23.13) and 50 breast (28.71)).
Paden Nelson had 34 points, finishing seventh in the 100 IM (1:05.51) and eighth in the 50 fly (28.40) and 50 breast (34.05).
Alex Rhodes had 23 points, finishing fourth in the 50 breast (32.54), 12th in the 100 IM (1:14.32) and 13th in the 50 free (27.48).
Wyatt Gardner had 11 points, taking 11th in the 50 breast (40.81) and 14th in both the 50 free (27.53) and 100 IM (1:23.48).
Abby Freeborn-Priest had seven points, taking 12th in the 50 breast (43.02) and 15th in the 100 IM (1:31.48).
WOMEN
Kellie McGee had 51 points. She won the 50 fly (33.05), was third in the 100 IM (1:13.71) and was fourth in the 50 back (1:07.54).
Gabrielle Mino collected 51 points. She was second in all three of her events: 50 free (25.95), 50 breast (35.45) and 100 IM (1:04.95).
