KNIGHTS SWIM TEAM TAKES THIRD AT SEQUOIAS MEET

VISALIA, Calif. – Shasta College's men's and women's swim team both finished third at the College of the Sequoias four-way meet on Feb. 11.

The Knights earned four event wins, three from the women and one from the men. Audrie Reuss won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving event while Karlee Rowe was the 100-yard backstroke winner. For the men, Jacob Thulin won the 100 butterfly.

Overall, the Knights had 19 Top 3 finishes out of 25 event entries – 11 from the women and eight from the men.

For team points, Shasta's women earned 250 points, following Sequoias (454) and Fresno (359) and finishing ahead of Clovis (38). The Shasta men collected 152 points behind Sequoias (678) and Clovis (182).

WOMEN

Rowe was sixth in individual points with 53, finishing in the top three in all three of her events including winning the women's 100 back in 1 minute, 10.85 seconds. She was second in the 50 freestyle (26.36) and third in the 100 free (58.21).

Adessa Berglund was ninth 49 points, finishing in the top three in all three of her events. She was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.15) and third in both the 100 Individual Medley (1:12.93) and 50 breast (36.03).

Jade Eagleson was 12th (45 points), taking second in the 200 IM (2:58.05), fourth in the 50 fly (35.74) and sixth in the 100 IM (1:22.40).

Reuss was 14th (40 points), winning both the 1-meter diving with 180.71 points) and the 3-meter diving with 148.4 points.

Amalia Shelton was 17th (38 points), taking third in the 50 fly (35.69), sixth in the 500 free (7:21.19) and ninth in the 100 free (1:15.62).

Cassidy Wolsey was 20th (25 points). She was third in the 500 free (6:54.58) and ninth in the 50 free (30.98).

MEN
Thulin was sixth in individual points with 53, finishing in the top three in all three of his races including winning the 100 fly (56.95). He was second in the 100 free (49.06) and third in the 50 free (22.24).

Justin Brewen was eighth with 50 points, taking second in the 500 free (6:46.69) and the 100 back (1:12.59) and third in the 50 back (31.90).

Bradley MacLaren was 10th with 49 points, finishing second in the 50 breast (28.24) and 100 breast (1:02.90). He also finished fourth in the 50 free (23.04).
