SHASTA COLLEGE BEATS SISKIYOUS 6-3

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's men's soccer team ended its 10-match losing streak by defeating College of the Siskiyous 6-3 on Friday.

Sophomore Mason Jensen scored a career-high four goals for the Knights, two of which were unassisted with the other two assisted by freshmen Samuel Elwood and Christopher Gluyas.

Jensen now has a team-leading 12 goals on the season, which is more than half (23) of the Knights' total scoring output. Elwood leads the team with three assists.

Freshman Zachary Fendler had an assist on freshman Eric Vanacker's goal and freshman Kaito Shibata scored an unassisted goal for Shasta in its most lopsided win of the season.

Goalkeeper Kevin Meza had four saves for the Knights.

Shasta lost earlier in the week to Lassen College 5-0 at home with Meza recording 12 saves in the defeat.

Shasta enters the final week of play with a 1-9 Golden Valley Conference record and 2-14 overall. The Knights host Lake Tahoe on Tuesday for the last home match and plays at Butte on Friday.
