SHASTA DOWNS SIERRA FOR FIRST VICTORY

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Shasta College men's basketball team beat Sierra College 64-61 on the road Saturday to earn its first win of the season.

The Knights trailed 37-30 at half but outscored the Wolverines by 10 in the second half to rally for the victory. Shasta shot 35 percent from 3-point range, burying 11 3s in the game and sank 9 of 11 free throws.

Four players scored in double figures for Shasta College. Benjamin Keown led the way with 23 points, Aiden Pearsall-Morgan scored 13 points and dished eight assists, Carson Kingston scored 12 points and Anthony Sanchez came off the bench to score 10 points.

Shasta improves to 1-3 and hosts its Shasta College Invitational Thursday, scheduled to square off against Santa Rosa Junior College, Simpson University and Cabrillo College.
