KNIGHTS' THOMPSON, PLUNKITT, EARN ALL-GVC HONORS

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College Zach Thompson and Michael Plunkitt were named to the all-Golden Valley Conference team and all-GVC defensive team.

Thompson, a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard out of Fall River High School in McArthur, was the Knights' leading scorer with 14.5 points per game. He scored in double figures in 14 straight games and had a season-high 25 points in a 81-76 loss to College of the Siskiyous. He also led the team in 3-pointers (50), free throws (68) and free throw percentage (81 percent).

Plunkitt, a 6-0 sophomore guard out of Central Valley High School in Spokane, Wa., averaged 7.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.9 steals per game. His 82 steals were third in the state and his 134 assists ranked 22nd in the state. He scored a season-high 19 points in a 104-72 loss to Medanos and had racked up seven assists in five different games and seven steals in two different games.

Tanner Bidwell was honorable mention for the all-GVC team. Bidwell, a 5-10 sophomore guard from Big Valley High School in Beiber, averaged 7.9 points per game and scored a season-best 18 points in the season finale against Redwoods.
