Bryon Hamilton returns for his fifth season as the Knight’s Head Football Coach. In Coach Hamilton’s first season, the Knights went 7-3 in the regular season and participated in the Golden Gate Bowl (50-43 overtime loss). In year 2, the Knights won teh North Conference in a Covid shortened season. Hamilton previously served as Assistant Head Coach under the leadership of Coach Craig Thompson. In Hamilton’s first stint with the Knights (1996-2001), Hamilton was the architect of one of the top offenses in California. In four of the six seasons with the Knights, the team earned post season bowl berths. Hamilton had the privilege of coaching several all-state and all-conference players, including the 1997 first team All American quarterback and Knights Hall of Fame inductee, Ricky Ray. Since his return, the Knights have set consecutive school scoring records with the 2014 squad averaging 47 points per game: ranking #1 in the state.

From 2002-2012 Hamilton served as the Head Football Coach at Foothill High School in Palo Cedro. Under his leadership, the football program enjoyed great success. His teams won 77 games, 4 league titles and appeared in four NSCIF championship games, winning Foothill’s only CIF title with an undefeated record in 2007.

Hamilton is a 1987 graduate of Enterprise High School and a 1992 Graduate of Long Beach State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He was a member (1987-1991) of the NCAA Division 1 football program at Long Beach State (TE) where he played for Hall of fame Coach George Allen. Coach Hamilton holds a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University in Irvine, California, and a California State Teaching Credential from Simpson University in Redding, California. Prior to his full-time position at Shasta, Hamilton spent 22 years as an educator at Foothill High School. He resides in Redding, Ca with his wife Amber. His daughter, Presley Hamilton (20), formerly attended Shasta College and Athlete of the 2022-2023 year for her outstanding contribution to our Lady Knight's Volleyball Program. Daughter, Riley Hamilton (24), is completing a master's degree at Simpson College in education and completing her requirements as a student teacher at Foothill High School. His son, Beau Hamilton (26), is married to Kate Hamilton who provided him, his first granddaughter, Grey Hamilton (1) and whom is currently a law enforcement officer in Mount Shasta.
