SHASTA FALLS TO SISKIYOUS IN TWINBILL

WEED, Calif. – The Shasta College baseball team lost a Golden Valley Conference road doubleheader 7-5, 4-1 at College of the Siskiyous but still won the GVC series with three wins in five contests.

Siskiyous 7, Shasta 5
The Eagles led 4-0 after the fourth inning and never trailed. Stephen Nelson accounted for three of Shasta's five hits, going 3 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run. Hayes Eden was 1 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, AJ Davies scored twice and Keanu Mizuta was 1 for 5 with an RBI. Ryan Rudd gave up two runs on three hits in two innings to take the loss.

Siskiyous 4, Shasta 1
Shasta's lone run came in the eighth inning on a throwing error that scored Eden. The Knights scattered eight hits among seven players with Mizuta turning in the only multi-hit performance. Shea Bowen, Joaquin Medina and Julian Esqueda each had a double. Bowen took the loss after giving up three runs on four hits in four innings. Alex Alvarez struck out seven and gave up one run on three hits in four innings of relief.

Shasta goes into the season finale doubleheader against Lassen 11-12 in GVC play and 19-19 overall.
