REDDING, Calif. – Shasta dropped two home games 9-5, 22-5 against Butte College to stay winless against the Roadrunners in Golden Valley Conference play this season.
Butte 9, Shasta 5
The Knights trailed 5-2 in the eighth before the Roadrunners scored four in the top half of the frame. The Knights got two back in the bottom half on a two-run home run from Keanu Mizuta but couldn't get more than one more in the ninth from Giacomo Crosetti's RBI single to center. Alex Alvarez struck out three, walked one and allowed four earned runs on eight hits in four innings to take the loss. Shasta totaled 11 hits in the game with multi-hit games from Shea Bowen and Crosetti. Bowen was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs, Crosetti was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and a run, Mizuta was 1 for 5 with three RBIs and a run and AJ Davies scored a run.
Butte 22, Shasta 5
Butte blew the game open with a 10-run sixth inning and Shasta committed eight errors. The Knights cycled through eight pitchers in the contest with starter Cade Jacobson taking the loss. Hayes Eden hit a two-run home run, Crosetti was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Stephen Nelson had a double and scored a run, Julian Esqueda had a triple and Davies was 1 for 3 with a run.
