REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team split a home series against College of the Siskiyous Saturday, losing the first game 15-8 and winning the nightcap 5-2. Earlier in the week, Shasta lost a home doubleheader to Lassen 6-1 and 5-4.

THURSDAY

Lassen 6, Shasta 1
Dylan Foster took the loss, striking out three and walking one while allowing two earned runs on five hits in seven innings. Keanu Mizuta was 1 for 4 with an RBI, driving in Jaden Gorge, who was 2 for 4 with the lone run. AJ Davies was 1 for 3 for the Knights.

Lassen 5, Shasta 4 (8)
The Knights gave up a run in the top of the eighth on a wild pitch to give the Cougars the doubleheader sweep. Jay Mendez went the distance but took the loss, allowing four earned runs on eight hits in eight innings for the Knights. Gary Molina was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs, Derek Ray was 1 for 2 with an RBI double and scored a run, Hayden Hill was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a stolen base and Ethan Williams drove in a run.

SATURDAY

Siskiyous 15, Shasta 8
Brady Munson took the loss on the hill, giving up six earned runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings. Joe Fox and Justin Purdom allowed four runs each in 1.2 innings of relief, though, Purdom's were all unearned. Davies was 2 for 4 with a run, Molina was 1 for 3 with an RBI double, Mason Wood was 1 for 2 with an RBI and two runs, Shane Taylor was 1 for 1 with a run, Mario Hernandez was 1 for 1 with a two-run double and Payton Jeffries was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Shasta 5, Siskiyous 2
Jeffries got the win on the mound, striking out eight and walking four while allowing two earned runs on four hits in six innings. Gorge got the save, fanning one batter and allowing a hit in one scoreless inning of relief. Davies was 3 for 3, Cole Harper was 2 for 2 with an RBI double and two runs, Taylor hit a two-run double and Hernandez was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Shasta (12-14) wraps up the regular season Thursday at Feather River.
