REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's beach volleyball team edged College of the Siskiyous 3-2 for its first home victory of the season. The Knights lost 4-1 to Lassen College the same day.

In the win against Siskyous, Shasta earned victories at No. 1, 2 and 3 pairs. The duo of Shawnee Church and Emerie Brown won 21-10, 21-17 at No. 1 pairs, Emmarae Westphal and Jacie Clavelle defeated Colombo/Cole 18-21, 21-8, 15-5 at No. 2s and Emma Mangini and Brooke Vaughan beat Gastelum/Hanna 21-18, 21-19 at No. 3 pairs. Hannah Martins and Adyson Wright lost 21-18, 21-11 at No. 4s and Shasta forfeited at No. 5 pairs but held on for the 3-2 victory.

Against Lassen, Shasta's lone victory came at No. 2 pairs with Clavelle and Westphal defeated Churchill/Racca 21-12, 21-10. In No. 1 pairs, Brown/Church lost to Borrows/White 21-16, 7-21, 15-11. The dual of Mangini and Vaughan lost to O'Brien/Nord at No. 3 doubles, 21-12, 11-12, 15-9, Wright and Martins lost to Sanchez/Halverson 21-12, 18-21, 15-11 at No. 4 pairs. Lassen received a forfeit win at No. 5 pairs.
