Coach Wagner has been the Head Swim and Dive Coach of Shasta College since 2008. Mark Wagner was raised in Visalia, California and attended Fresno State University where he was College All-America in Swimming and played Water Polo. Mark received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a minor in Physiology.

Since 1996 Coach Wagner has been influential in increasing aquatic activities in the North State. Mark was instrumental in the construction of the Redding Aquatic Center, introduction of Water Polo and Diving to the local children in our community since his arrival. Coach Wagner is a current member of the Redding Breakfast Lions, Vice President of the North Valley Aquatic League. He has also served on numerous non-profits and other local service groups within the community. Coach Wagner is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association and is certified as a Level 4 Coach which places him in the top 5% of all coaches in the United States. He is member of U.S.A Swimming, Sierra Nevada Swimming and Pacific Masters Swimming. In addition, Mark was the Coach of the Year in the Bay Valley and Central Valley Conferences in 2009, 2014, and 2017.

Coach Wagner has three wonderful children; Taylor, MacKenna and Cooper along with many animals that keep life busy and entertaining.
