KNIGHTS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO FIVE

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team beat College of the Redwoods in four sets 26-24, 16-25, 25-14, 25-22 on Wednesday for its fifth straight victory before losing to Feather River College 25-12, 25-10, 25-19 on Friday to snap the winning streak.

Against Redwoods, Shasta totaled 41 kills to 18 hitting errors, led by Presley Hamilton and Emmarae Westphal who both reaching double digit kills with 14 and 12, respectively. Hamilton added 11 digs for a double-double. Sarah Ault slammed six kills, dished 29 assists, totaled five service aces and chipped in with 11 digs. Libero Brooke Vaughan racked up a team-high 17 digs in the victory.

The loss to Feather River was the first Golden Valley Conference defeat for the Knights. Westphal led Shasta with four kills while Hamilton, Macey Bunn and Kelci Vance recorded three kills apiece. Ault had 10 assists and Vaughan added 14 digs.

Vaughan ranks second in the state in digs with 426 and is 13th in digs per set (5.2). Hamilton is 10th in the state in kills with 257.
