KNIGHTS DOWN LASSEN, BUTTE AT HOME

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team swept Lassen College 25-17, 25-16, 25-23 on Wednesday and outlasted Butte College 25-15, 18-25, 25-20, 25-15 Friday to have a perfect week in Golden Valley Conference play.

Against Lassen, Shasta put down 27 kills compared to nine hitting errors with Presley Hamilton leading the way with 10 kills to go with 11 digs. Emmarae Westphal slammed seven kills and Kelci Vance and Sarah Ault each tallied four kills. Ault dished 17 assists to go with a team-best four service aces, Sanaii Cooper had four blocks and Brooke Vaughan's 16 digs were a team-high.

In the win over Butte, Shasta turned in a .306 hitting percentage with 48 kills compared to 11 hitting errors. Hamilton and Westphal paced the offense which had six players with at least four kills. Ault dished 33 assists and contributed 12 digs, Cooper, Macey Bunn and Vance each had five kills and Vaughan served a team-high three aces to go with 14 digs.

Shasta pushed its winning streak to three matches and is tied atop the GVC standings through the first two weeks of the regular season with Feather River College.
