Kayla Bonomini was raised in Eureka, California. She graduated from Eureka High School in 2017, where she played varsity basketball for four years. She played basketball here at Shasta College for two years. Kayla earned a position on the All-Conference team for the 2018-2019 season after being one of the leading scorers in the conference and ending the season with a career-high of a 42-point game. Bonomini continued her education and basketball career at Simpson University after receiving an athletic scholarship. She wrapped up her athletic career and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2021.

Coach Bonomini spent the 2022-2023 season at Enterprise High School coaching Varsity Girls' Basketball. This will be her first coaching debut at the Junior College level. Kayla is "Honored and excited to be back at a program where her college career began and couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity."
