SHASTA ENDS SEASON IN LOSS AT REDWOODS

EUREKA, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team dropped a 51-33 road contest to College of the Redwoods in the final game of the season.

The Knights were outscored 22-6 in the second quarter to trail by 17 at halftime and never recovered.

Shasta shot 1 of 11 from 3-point range (9 percent) and was 4 of 11 (36 percent) from the free throw line while committing 27 turnovers. Graceyn Harlan scored 12 points, pulled down nine rebounds and grabbed six steals to lead the Knights. Bailey Matos scored seven points and Kiley Johnson came off the bench to score six points.

Shasta wraps up the season with a 2-6 record in Golden Valley Conference play and 11-16 overall.

SEASON STATS

Harlan led the Knights in scoring average with 13.8 points per game, followed by Emma Gaddy (10.3 ppg). Gigi Velasquez led Shasta in rebounding with 8.0 rebounds per game, followed by Harlan (7.9 rpg) and Creedence Shaver (7.5 rpg). Velasquez was the leader in assists (2.9 assists per game), followed by Bailey Matos (2.8 apg). Gaddy's 44 3-pointers led the Knights and was double the next player (Matos, 22).
