REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's women's basketball team lost to College of the Siskiyous 48-45 in the Golden Valley Conference opener but followed it with a 50-18 win over Lassen College at home.

The Knights wrapped up non-conference play before this with a 59-47 loss at Chabot College the week before.

Chabot 59, Shasta 47
The Knights fell behind 24-6 after the opening quarter and couldn't catch up. Shasta committed 20 turnovers but outrebounded Chabot 45-32. Gigi Velasquez scored 14 points, Graceyn Harlan scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Emmy Gaddy scored seven points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Siskiyous 48, Shasta 45
Shasta fell behind 30-22 at half but trailed by five entering the final period. The Knights shot 3 of 14 from downtown. Gaddy scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Bailey Matos scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Shasta 50, Lassen 18
The Knights led 24-12 at halftime and blew the game open with a 17-2 advantage in the third period. Shasta outrebounded Lassen 65-33 in the game with three Knights recording double-digit rebounds. Gaddy scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds, Harlan scored eight points to go with 14 rebounds and Creedence Shaver grabbed 12 rebounds. Kiley Johnson scored 10 points and had nine rebounds off the bench.
