WEED, Calif. – Shasta College's upset bid over perennial Northern California powerhouse College of the Siskiyous fell a little short for the second time this season.

After threatening to knock off the Eagles in the earlier Golden Valley Conference matchup, the Knights nearly pulled it off again, but lost 73-69 on the road Saturday.

Shasta trailed 44-33 at half and strong fourth quarter put the Knights within striking distance. But they didn't have enough to take down the No. 13 team in the state and No. 10 in Northern California.

The Knights, who rank ninth in the state in 3-pointers made per game, only shot 4 of 27 from beyond the arc despite only losing by four.

Sophomore Julia Hill scored 20 points, freshman Jordan Martinez tied her season-high with 18 points to go with eight rebounds, five assists and five steals, sophomore Kilee Hannan scored 13 points and had nine rebounds, and sophomore Aubrie Wall scored 10 points.

Shasta is 2-4 in GVC play and 13-11 overall.
