REDDING, Calif. – The Knights finally got a break from a brutal Golden Valley Conference schedule where every game has been down to the wire.

Shasta College routed visiting College of the Redwoods 91-42 Wednesday night to move to 2-3 in GVC play and 13-10 overall.

All 12 players scored for the Knights, including four in double figures led by sophomore point guard Kilee Hannan's 14 points. Sophomore Aubrie Wall scored 13 points, freshman Rikki Sherman scored 11 points and freshman Jordan Martinez scored 10 points.

Shasta took advantage of a short-handed Redwoods squad that had only seven suited up. The Knights opened the game on a 20-3 run fueled by Hannan, Wall and sophomore Julia Hill – all of which combined to score Shasta's 26 first quarter points. The Knights stretched the lead to as many as 28 in the second quarter to head into half up 45-20.

Shasta's bench got significant playing time throughout the game, which pleased head coach Jerry Brown.

"It's the first game in a long time where everybody has been able to play," Brown said. "Sometimes it's not who you play, it's how you play. The starters put the game away early and then it was fun to see all the kids that don't play much have fun."

Shasta's bench outscored Redwoods on its own with 43 points, led by Sherman. Freshman Mikenzy Frye got in on the action with eight points, and freshman Kayla Bonomini and sophomore Lexi Diaz-Rice each scored six points.

The Knights grew their lead to as much as 56 in the fourth quarter.

"It was fun that everyone got a chance to play in a conference game," Brown said.

Redwoods' Taylor Murray scored a team-high 14 points.

Shasta plays on the road in Weed against No. 19 College of the Siskiyous on Saturday at 4 p.m.
