HANNAN'S DOUBLE-DOUBLE HELPS KNIGHTS TO FIRST GVC WIN

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College sophomore Kilee Hannan recorded a double-double to lead the Knights to a 76-62 home victory Saturday against rival Butte College Roadrunners.

Hannan scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season as Shasta picked up its first Golden Valley Conference victory after threatening No. 19 College of the Siskiyous earlier in the week.

The Knights (12-9, 1-2 GVC) led 37-31 at half and blew the game open with a 22-point third quarter, keeping the Roadrunners (4-12, 0-2 GVC) at bay.

Shasta sophomore Aubrie Wall stayed hot after her 30-point performance on Wednesday with a 19-point effort on five 3-pointers against Butte. Freshman Jordan Martinez scored a season-high 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds and paced the Knights with four assists. Sophomore forward Julia Hill scored 15 points and added seven rebounds.

The Knights, who rank third in the CCCAA in 3-pointers attempted per game (27) and seventh in the state in 3-pointers made per game (7.4), shot 10 of 28 from beyond the arc against the Roadrunners – the fifth time this season they've made double-digits 3s in a game.
