KNIGHTS TURN IN 23 TOP 10 FINISHES IN OREGON

ASHLAND, Ore. – The Shasta College men's and women's track and field teams competed against NCAA Division II, NAIA and fellow junior college competition at the Raider Invite at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon on Friday.

The Knights had 16 top 10 finishes for the men and seven top 10 finishes for the women, including the only Shasta event victory coming in the triple jump by Alyssa Burke.

MEN'S RESULTS
Running:
Shasta's 4x100-meter Relay Team of Carson Marx, Kenyon Riley, Brock Fisher and Dy'Shone Hayes was second in 43.19 seconds. Fisher was second in the 110 hurdles (15.31), fourth in the 400 hurdles (58.81) and 20th in the 100 (11.63). Hayes was sixth in the 100 (11.08) and 200 (22.87), Riley was ninth in the 100 (11.26), Bradley Murray was 26th in the 100 (11.78), Matthew McCree was 30th in the 100 (11.95), Roland Black was 25th in the 200 (25.81) and 30th in the 100 (12.37).

Field: Chris Martinez was eighth in the pole vault (13 feet, 9.25 inches), Erik Valdez was 10th in the pole vault (12-9.5), Coner Nix was 13th in the pole vault (11-9.75), Aaron Young was 13th in the pole vault (11-9.75), Joe Williams was 15th in the pole vault (10-10), Marx and Bradley Murray tied for ninth in the long jump (20-3.5), and Theodore Corontzos was 14th in the triple jump (36-11) and 22nd in the long jump (17-9).

Throwing: Cole Parker was fifth in the javelin (172-10), Payton Harrell was seventh in the shot put (129-8), 12th in the shot put (41-0.25), Aedan Slack was fourth in the hammer throw (142-1), 18th in the discus (118-2), Hoku-Lani Wickard was eighth in the javelin (124-7), George Fountain was ninth in the javelin (123-8), Jim Mogen was 11th in hammer throw (127-0), 14th in the shot put (40-0.5) and 19th in the discus (117-9). Ian Montague was eighth in the discus (129-7), 12th in the javelin (115-11), 16th in the hammer throw (109-10) and 23rd in the shot put (35-5.25).

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Running:
Shasta's 4x100 Relay Team of Jenna Hodges, Kylanna Bluford, Ali Sager and Kayla Bowden was fourth in 52.42. Bowden was 13th in both the 100 (14.11) and 200 (29.32) and 14th in the 100 hurdles (19.05). Lauren Garcia Gomez was 15th in the 100 (15.06) and 19th in the 200 (33.61), Savanna Sanderson was 15th in the 800 (3:03.28) and Sager was 13th in the 100 hurdles (18.32).

Field: Burke won the triple jump (38-2), was third in the high jump (5-0.5) was 17th in the long jump (14-9.25). Hodges was fifth in the triple jump (33-4.75) and eighth in the long jump (16-8) and Shalene Cobb was eighth in the triple jump (32-9.75), 16th in the long jump (15-5).

Throwing: Hodges was seventh in the javelin (90-7) and Alyson Zuidema was 12th in the hammer throw (100-2), 18th in the shot put (28-5), 19th in the hammer throw (90-7) and 20th in the discus (88-3).  Emmaline Forrester was 16th in the discus (94-8), 19th in the shot put (27-2) and 20th in the hammer throw (74-3). Gabby Castillo was 21st in the shot put (23-11) and 23rd in the discus (55-1).
