FOUR KNIGHTS COMPETE AT CCCAA SWIM & DIVING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

REDDING, Calif. – Four Shasta College swim team members competed at the 2022 California Community College Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships last week.

Ashlee Duckworth, a sophomore from Shasta Charter Academy, scored 18 points across two events and tied for 53rd overall out of 233 for the women high point total. She took eighth in 3-meter diving with 160.85 points to pick up 11 ranking points and finished 10th in 1-meter diving with 156.95 points to earn seven points.

Audrie Reuss, a sophomore from University Prep in Redding, scored 14 points across two events and tied for 63rd overall out of 233 for women high point total. She collected all 14 ranking points in 1-meter diving where she took fifth place with 175.15 points.

Bradley MacLaren, a sophomore from Trinity High in Weaverville, scored 18 points across his three events to finish in 54th out of 286 male competitors. He finished 15th in the 200-meter Individual Medley prelims in 2 minutes, 0.22 seconds and took 16th in the finals in 2:01.12 to earn one point. Both results were better than his seed time of 2:02.50. In the 100 breaststroke, MacLaren took eighth in both the prelims (58.78) and the finals (59.35) to earn eight points. Both times were better than his seeded time of 59.62. In the 200 breaststroke, MacLaren was 14th in the prelims (2:10.87) and finished 11th in the finals (2:08.56) to earn six points and beat his seed time of 2:10.09.

Jacob Thulin, a freshman from Niluht Homeschool, scored 11 points across his two events to tie for 69th out of 286 competitors. He finished 11th in the 100 butterfly in the prelims (52.20) and 15th in the finals (52.48) to earn two points. In the 200 butterfly, Thulin was 10th in the prelims of the 200 free (2:00.09) and took ninth overall in the event in 1:57.80 to earn nine points. Both times were better than his seed time of 2:06.85.
