REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's softball team lost a road doubleheader to Butte College, falling 7-2 and 8-0 in five innings in Golden Valley Conference play.

Butte 7, Shasta 2
The Knight scored in the first and seventh on an RBI single from Macey Bunn and Riley Horton's RBI groundout. Shasta totaled three hits in the game, two from Bunn and another from Autumn Campbell. Bunn and Campbell each scored a run. Whitney Carnes took the loss for the Knights after allowing seven earned runs on 13 hits in six innings.

Butte 8, Shasta 2 (5)
Shasta tallied four hits in the game, a pair from Cora Peterson and one each from Kiley Wendt and Autumn Tenney. Peterson was 2 for 2 in the game to lead the offense. Carnes was credited with the loss, giving up two earned runs on four hits in 1.2 innings. Peterson allowed five runs on eight hits in three innings of relief.
