KNIGHTS WINLESS AT MODESTO TOURNAMENT

MODESTO, Calif. – Shasta College's men's basketball team lost three games at the Modesto Tournament last week, falling 72-61 to Modesto, dropping a 67-61 contest to Lassen College and losing 82-74 to West Hills Coalinga.

Modesto 72, Shasta 61
The Knights trailed 38-30 at half and shot 23 percent (8 of 35) from 3-point range. Tyrese Christie recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds and Benjamin Keown scored 12 points to go with seven boards. Carson Kingston scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds while Aiden Pearsall-Morgan contributed seven points and a team-high four assists. Aramane Collins scored seven points off the bench.

Lassen 82, Shasta 74
Shasta trailed by 10 at half but outscored the Cougars 35-31 in the second half. The Knights made 10 3-pointers in the game and won the turnover battle 17-8 in the loss. Keown scored 21 points to lead the way for Shasta and added seven rebounds. Kingston scored 12 points and Anthony Sanchez had 10 points and seven boards.

West Hills 82, Shasta 74
The Knights were outscored 46-38 in the second half after being tied at 36 at the break. Shasta made 12 3s in the game but was outrebounded 40-29 in the contest. Four players scored in double figures: Christie (18), Kingston (17), Keown (14), Sanchez (10), respectively. Keown and Christie each had seven rebounds.

Shasta (1-12) has lost nine straight games and plays in the Tristan Holiday Tournament at San Joaquin Delta on Thursday.
