KNIGHTS DROP 3 GAMES AT SHASTA INVITATIONAL

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College men's basketball team lost all three games of its Shasta College Invitational, falling to Santa Rosa 92-48, losing to Simpson University 75-61 and dropping the final contest to Cabrillo College 86-64.

Santa Rosa 92, Shasta 48
Shasta trailed 44-20 at halftime and shot 22 percent from the floor in the game and finished with seven 3-pointers out of the 16 total field goals. Carson Kingston was the leading scorer for the Knights with 13 points while Evan Martinez scored nine points. Aiden Pearsall-Morgan scored seven points and pulled down a team-best seven rebounds while Jason Lagdamon scored eight points off the bench.

Simpson University 75, Shasta 61
The Knights were outscored 38-36 in the second half after trailing by 12 at halftime. Shasta shot 22 percent from 3-point range (5 of 22) and shot 10 of 17 from the free throw line. Benjamin Keown scored 11 points and grabbed three steals to lead the Knights while Pearsall-Morgan scored 10 points. Kingston scored eight points and pulled down a team-best nine rebounds, Christopher Phipps had seven points and eight boards and Lagdamon and Tyrese Christie scored nine and eight points off the bench, respectively.

Cabrillo 86, Shasta 64
Shasta trailed 41-29 at half and was outrebounded 42-28 in the game. Keown dropped 24 points and grabbed five rebounds to pace the Knights. Pearsall-Morgan contributed 18 points and six assists, Kingston had four steals and Anthony Sanchez dished four assists.

Shasta (1-6) plays Cosumnes River, Reedley and Las Positas at the 45th annual James Clark Classic in Sacramento from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2.
