KNIGHTS OPEN SEASON WITH THREE LOSSES

HAYWARD, Calif. – Shasta College's men's basketball team lost all three games at the Chabot Tournament in the season-opening week, falling to Alameda 68-44, losing to Ohlone 92-51 and also Diablo Valley 65-61.

Alameda 68, Shasta 44
The Knights shot 28 percent from the field (15 of 53) including 4 of 21 from 3-point range in the loss. Bekdoo Lewis was the lone Knight in doubles figures with 11 points and six rebounds and Josiah Hutt scored eight points and dished four assists.

Ohlone 92, Shasta 51
The Knights were outscored 42-15 in the second half and were outrebounded 47-23 in the game. Josiah Palumbo and Hutt each tallied 12 points to lead Shasta in scoring and Lewis chipped in with 11 points. Carson Kingston had a team-high five rebounds and Evan Bidwell had a pair of steals to lead Shasta.

Diablo Valley 65, Shasta 61
Shasta went into half up 36-23 but couldn't sustain it to fall for the third straight game. Palumbo and Kingston had 11 points apiece, Lewis chipped in with nine rebounds and Hutt had eight points and 11 boards.

Shasta (0-3) plays in the George Goto Classic this week.
