REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team lost four games last week, including a three-game home series against Canada. The Knights fell to Folsom Lake 14-5 before losing at home to Canada 18-5, 7-5 and 17-0.

Folsom Lake 14, Shasta 5
Folsom Lake blew the game open with a five-run sixth inning to pull away. All five Shasta hits were singles. Logan Kind turned in the lone multi-hit game for Shasta, going 2 for 5 with two runs. Garret Finch had two RBIs. Andrew Shanks allowed three runs on three hits in four innings to take the loss on the mound. Five other Knights combined to finish the next four innings.

Canada 18, Shasta 5 (8)
Shasta jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles from Kind and Brenden Eberle. But Canada put up 10 in the third inning and never looked back. William Mager was 3 for 4 with a double and a run, Hayden Boyes was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs and Sodai Takanaga had two RBIs. Paul Luebbers struck out one, walked four and allowed nine runs – five earned – on seven hits in 2.1 innings in the loss.

Canada 7, Shasta 5 (11)
Shasta's Blake Bozzoni tied the game in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI single but Canada scored twice in the 11th for the extra-inning victory. Bozzini was 2 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Kaden Bruns was 3 for 4 with an RBI, Mager was 2 for 6, Kind was 2 for 6 with an RBI and Boyes hit a double and scored a run. Starter Justin Evasovic lasted six innings and finished with two strikeouts and one walk while giving up three earned runs on six hits. Shanks took the loss after giving up three runs – two earned – on five hits across four innings.

Canada 17, Shasta 0 (5)
Canada scored 14 runs in the third inning while Shasta managed three hits in the shutout loss. Kind was 2 for 2 with a double and Trenton Hermann was 1 for 2. Ian Bauer surrendered 10 runs – two earned – on eight hits in 2.2 innings to take the loss.

Shasta (1-12) hosts Yuba College Tuesday before opening Golden Valley Conference play with a three-game home series against College of the Redwoods on Friday.
