BOWEN LEADS SHASTA IN SWEEP OF SISKIYOUS

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team swept College of the Siskiyous in a three-game Golden Valley Conference series at home, winning 8-2, 17-3 and 11-3.

Shea Bowen homered three times across the three games as the Knights hit eight home runs in the sweep – two from Stephen Nelson and one apiece from Giacomo Crosetti, Haydes Edens and AJ Davies.

Shasta is fourth in the state with 27 home runs on the year.

Shasta 8, Siskiyous 2
Bowen hit two home runs and the Knights padded their three-run lead in the eighth with a two-run home run from Nelson and a solo homer from Crosetti. Shasta hit four home runs in the game. Bowen was 4 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs, Crosetti was 4 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, Nelson was 2 for 5 with two RBIs and Keanu Mizuta scored twice. Alex Alvarez got the win on the mound while Gavin Guard picked up a three-inning save. Alvarez struck out seven and walked two while allowing two runs on three hits in six innings and Guard struck out three across three scoreless frames of relief.

Shasta 17, Siskiyous 3 (7)
A two-run double from Crosetti highlighted a five-run second inning and a two-run homer from Edens highlighted a five-run third as the Knights cruised in a mercy-rule shortened game. Bowen was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs, Davies was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and four runs, Crosetti was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and five RBIs, Nelson had three RBIs, Mizuta drove in two runs and scored three times and Liam Ritchie was 2 for 3 with three runs. Cade Jacobson got the win with five strikeouts, four walks and two earned runs on two hits in five innings.

Shasta 11, Siskiyous 3
Mizuta's RBI triple later followed by Nelson's two-run inside-the-park home run highlighted a four-run fifth inning to lift the Knights to a sweep. All nine Shasta starters had a hit in the game. Bowen was 2 for 4 with four RBIs and homered for the third time in three games, Mizuta was 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs, Drew Reynolds was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run, Edens was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run, Nelson drove in two runs and scored twice and Jude Marquez scored twice. Ryan Rudd got the win after striking out eight batters and walking one while allowing two hits across five scoreless innings.

Shasta (3-3 GVC, 11-10) hosts College of the Redwoods on Tuesday before wrapping up the week with a three game series against Lassen College.
