SHASTA LOSES TO DE ANZA, SAC CITY

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team lost its final two matches of non-conference play, falling to De Anza and Sacramento City College and at De Anza on Saturday.

The Knights lost to De Anza in four sets 17-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-23. Brooke Vaughan had a double-double with 22 digs and a team-high 11 kills. Emmarae Westphal added nine kills and a team-best 24 digs while Emma Magini chipped in with seven kills. Jacie Clavelle dished 28 assists and 17 digs and Elizabeth Lopez had 23 digs.

In the sweep against Sacramento City, Shasta lost 25-16, 25-14, 25-20. The Knights had 18 kills as team with Westphal accounting for eight of them. Clavelle had 10 assists and 11 digs, Vaughan had 17 digs, Lopez added 15 digs and Rose Young finished with four service aces.

Shasta (2-12) plays at Lassen College on Wednesday to open Golden Valley Conference play.
