SHASTA SWEEPS SISKIYOUS IN GVC OPENER

WEED, Calif. – The Shasta College volleyball team swept College of the Siskiyous 25-18, 25-9, 25-11 on the road Friday to open Golden Valley Conference play.

The Knights hit .262 as a team, compiling only five hitting errors in the final two sets as the dynamic pairing of outside hitters Presley Hamilton and Jennifer Troxclair led the way to victory. Hamilton turned in a team-best 13 kills while Troxclair put away 12 kills and added 10 digs for a double-double.

Shasta's all-around talent Sarah Ault had a strong performance with 30 assists, 13 digs, five kills and three service aces. Sophomore libero Aliyah Rosado-Cruz chipped in with 25 digs – her eighth match with at least 20 digs.

Troxclair and Hamilton have totaled double-digit kills in six straight matches.

The Knights (1-0 GVC, 9-6) have now won six of their past seven matches with the lone loss in five sets to Folsom Lake. Shasta continues on the road this week with GVC matchups against Lassen on Wednesday and Butte on Friday.
