KNIGHTS FALL TWICE AT SAN MATEO TOURNAMENT

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Shasta College's women's basketball team lost two games at the San Mateo Tournament, falling to host San Mateo 55-43 and losing to San Jose City College 64-63.

Isabela Padilla averaged 20 points and seven rebounds across the two games, leading the Knights in scoring in both games.

San Mateo 55, Shasta 43
The Knights trails 28-25 at half but was outscored 27-18 in the second half. Padilla and Amber Wallace each scored 14 points to lead Shasta while Trinity Fernandez contributed six points and a team-high five steals. Padilla's six rebounds led the team. Shasta was outrebounded 40-25 in the game.

San Jose 64, Shasta 63
The Knights outscored the Jaguars 23-17 in the fourth period but it wasn't enough to pull out the victory. Padilla scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Wallace scored 10 points and had five rebounds, four assists and three blocks. Jeanna Butcher scored 11 points and had five rebounds and Kaleia Mizuta scored nine points to go with eight boards. Shasta shot 42 percent from the floor (21 of 50), which was the second-best field goal percentage in a game this season.
