MARYSVILLE, Calif. – Anthony Pigoni-Covington, Alyssa Burke and Elise Ankeny each captured event wins at the Golden Valley Conference Championships.
Burke won two events, setting a season-best in the triple jump with a mark of 38 feet, 9.5 inches and her third-best jump of 5-5.25 to win the high jump.
Pigoni-Covington won the men's high jump with a mark of 6-2.75 and Ankeny won the women's pole vault by clearing 8-6.
MEN
Shasta's team was third with 44 points. Butte won with 119 points, Redwoods was second (78 points), Siskiyous was fourth with 42 points and Yuba was fifth (29 points).
100-meter dash: Holden Gilbert was second (11.11 seconds), Cameron Williams was third (11.24), Jonathan Simon was eighth (11.52), Anthony McFall was ninth (15.67), Jordan Hernandez was 16th (11.96).
200-meter dash: Gilbert was second (22.84), Williams was third (23.05), Simon was sixth (23.19), Hernandez was 15th (24.30).
800 meters: Jackson Reindel was second (1:55.88), Gage Bellomo was third (1:57.61) and Jonathan Wetz was ninth (2:18.33).
1,500 meters: Rief Ehlerding was fifth (4:29.03), Wetz was eighth (4:47.10), Devon Hammeke was ninth (4:54.04).
5,000 meters: Ehlerding was fifth (17:57.01).
10,000 meters: Ehlerding was fifth (37:49.46), Wetz was sixth (39:00.16) and Hammeke was eighth (43:28.98).
4x400 Relay: Shasta's team of Reindel, Bellomo, McFall and Gilbert was second (3:28.77).
High Jump: Pigoni-Covington won with a jump of 6-2.75. Hammeke was third (5-8.75).
Long Jump: Pigoni-Covington was second (21-7.5), Evan Dobson was seventh 18-4.25).
Shot Put: Chase Barnes was fifth (37-9.25).
Discus: Barnes was 10th (70-1).
Javelin: Barnes was fourth (137-7).
WOMEN
Shasta was third overall with 41 points. Redwoods won with 123 points, Butte was second (103), Yuba was fourth (29 points) and Siskiyous was fifth (7).
100-meter dash: Chloe Whitmire was third (12.61), Abagail Moore (12.86), Reese Adams (13.08).
200-meter dash: Whitmire was third (26.66), Moore was fifth (27.08), Adams was sixth (27.79).
4x100 Relay: Shasta's team of Whitmire, Moore, Sara Peters and Adams was third (50.90).
High Jump: Burke won with a jump of 5-5.25.
Pole Vault: Elise Ankeny won with a mark of 8-6.
Long Jump: Adams was second (16-9.75), Burke was third (16-8) and Peters was ninth (14-6).
Triple Jump: Burke won with a jump of 38-9.5.
Javelin: Peters was third with a throw of 112-2.
