PALO ALTO, Calif. – Three Shasta College athletes competed at the Stanford Invitational, which featured junior college, NCAA Division II and NAIA competitors.
Alyssa Burke won the women's high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 3 inches. She cleared 4-11, 5-1 and 5-3 on her first attempt but could not jump 5-5. The mark of 5-3 was a CCC A qualifying jump.
Anthony Pigoni-Covington took fourth place in the men's high jump with a CCC A qualifying jump of 6 feet, 4.75 inches. He cleared 6-0.75 on his second attempt, cleared 6-2.75 on his first and 6-4.75 on his second but could not top 6-6.75.
Sara Peters finished 12th in the women's javelin with a CCC B qualifying throw of 107-11.
