BURKE, PIGONI-COVINGTON LEAD KNIGHTS IN MARYSVILLE

MARYSVILLE, Calif. – Shasta College's track and field team collected three event victories and had nine total Top 5 finishes at the Wildcat CUP at Yuba College in Marysville over the weekend.

Shasta College's Alyssa Burke won the women's high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 5.75 inches and also captured the triple jump (37-9.25). She also finished second in the long jump (17-2.75).

For the men, Anthony Pigoni-Covington led the way with a victory in the high jump at 6-7, which was a CCCAA "A" qualifying standard.

100 meters: Anthony McFall was fifth (11.15), Eli Cortinas was 19th (11.70), Cameron Williams was 21st (11.77), Jonathan Simon was 30th (11.98), Jordan Hernandez was 39th (12.37), Caden Vanscoyk was 41st (12.42).

200 meters: McFall was 11th (22.81), Williams was 22nd (23.72), Cortinas was 25th (23.91), Simon was 27th (23.99).

800 meters: Jackson Reindel was fourth (1:57.53), Gage Bellomo was 11th (2:03.12).

1,500 meters: Craig Hall was 27th (5:30.01).

5,000 meters: Rief Ehlerding was 10th (16:27.92), Devon Hammeke was 17th (17:30.53), Jonathan Wetz was 21st (18:29.21).

4x100 Relay: Shasta's team of Holden Gilbert, McFall, Simon and Williams was third in 43.07.

4x400 Relay: Shasta's team of Reindel, Bellomo, Simon and Hammeke was seventh (3:30.44).

High Jump: Shasta's Pigoni-Covington won with a mark of 6-7.

Long Jump: Pigoni-Covington was seventh with a jump of 21-0.5, Vanscoyk was 20th (19-4).

Shot Put: Chase Barnes was 13th (38-9.5), Juan Chavez was 24th (33-3).

Discus: Barnes was 35th (69-9).

Javelin: Barnes was 11th (139-9).

WOMEN
100 meters: Chloe Whitmire was fifth (12.82), Reese Adams was 14th (14.24).

200 meters: Whitmire was seventh (26.66).

4x100 Relay: Shasta's team of Whitmire, Abigail Moore, Sara Peters and Adams was fourth (51.73).

High Jump: Burke won in 5-5.75.

Long Jump: Burke was second (17-2.75) and Peters was sixth (14-2.5).

Triple Jump: Burke won (37-9.25).

Javelin: Peters was eighth (97-8).
